Cinque Terre

Yesterday Bri, Nicole, and I went to Cinque Terre for the day which was amazing! We got up early and rode the train to La Spezia and then got on another train that took us past the 5 cities. We started out at the last city called Monterosso which was my favorite as far as the beaches. They were all so beautiful and amazing because they were right on the water and then they had all their little houses and buildings just built right into the hillside. it was pretty amazing! From there we took a ferry boat to the next city called Vernazza which was our favorite city. It had a little harbor for swimming and a smaller beach. We ate lunch there and then decided we wanted to hike through the hills to the next city, Corneglia. Bri and I hiked it and Nicole met us there on the train since she was sick and not up to hiking. The sign when we started said that it would be a 1.5 hour hike but we were determined to make it in less time than that! It was such a hard hike! And it was AT LEAST 90 degrees that day! The first half was all up hill and we had to climb these huge rock-stairs come of which were knee high! We were determined to make it though, and we made it to Corneglia in 1hour 10minutes! yay for us. we even had to take a victory picture by the city sign for proof. We were supposed to meet Nicole at the train station though, and that turned out to be another 30 minutes of walking down stairs to get there since the city itself was on the cliff. It was amazing how they built all those buildings up there. Then we waited for the train and decided to go back to Vernazza and lay on the beach for the last couple of hours we were there. We got Gelato of course as our victory prize for completing the hike and then changed into our swimsuits and went swimming in the Mediterranean Sea and layed on the beach. It was an awesome day and we might go back again for the day sometime before we go home! Here are some pictures!
